So how has this storm affected you?
I hope everyone is doing alright! We luckily have not lost power at all (Goffstown/Manchester line). We've taken in my parents though, who are in the dark in Merrimack and needed a warm place to stay. At least the weather is better now, but I hope power gets restored to everyone soon. Take care...

Re: So how has this storm affected you?
Thankfully we NEVER lost power...when most of my town had. But we did lose cable and internet which certainly sucked...but we were lucky all in all! Lost a bunch of trees in our yard, narrowly missing our shed.
Our power JUST came back on.. but we've been without power since early friday morning... but we're doing ok. We've got a generator which is good enough to run our boiler for heat and hot water, our fridge and a few lights. = ) Most are worse off.. hope everyone is ok!
We have been without power in Londonderry since about 10:30 pm Thursday night. We luckily have a generator.
We faired OK here in Raymond. We lost power at about 11:00 on Thursday night and it came back at about 10:00 Friday night. We were going to stay at our neighbors house who had a generator if it hadn't come back on, because it was about 55 in the house by 7:00 Friday night. We think the reason it came back so quick is because our development has underground utilties, because the roads on either side of us still don't have power. We have been getting power surges a lot though, that and our cable keeps going on and off.
My parents live in Amherst about a mile from the Bedford line and they just got their power back late last night. From what I understand most of Merrimack still doesn't have power. My uncle lives off of exit 11 and he still doesn't have it, and DH's aunt lives off of exit 12 and they still don't have it either. Luckly they both have generators.
DH's parents live in Weare closer to Henniker and the police have been going door to door telling people not to expect power back until at least Wednesday, I guess everything is pretty messed up up there. His parents have a generator and a gas and a wood stove, so at least they have heat, can cook, and can have a few lights on.
Most of the Epping area seems to be restored so if anyone needs gas or groceries, a restaurant etc, most everything on Route 125 is open.
I didn't lose it at all in Goffstown (close to Manchester/Bedford side), but seeing Mikesbride's post about her ILs in Weare makes me wonder if I will have work tomorrow! (I teach in Weare). yikes.
I was very lucky. My ILs have been in and out and my parents are coming to shower and have dinner and watrch football today. I have been offering my shower to everyone because I feel so bad!!
Finally back on. We lost power in Merrimack Thursday night - came back on Saturday night. We left Friday to Amherst, MA (we had a trip planned and just left a day early). It was like driving through a war zone both Friday and today! Lots of power lines down - went through Jaffery and we couldn't imagine where they were even going to start repiars.
Parents in Hudson got power back, but my brother who is a few houses down on the same street is still without.
We just got power back. Lost it just before midnight on Thursday. Yesterday, some friends who went out and bought another generator (a bigger one with wheels) lent us their old generator so that we could have heat and water. Before that we were living like pioneers - we have a wood stove and a fireplace (for heat and cooking) and jugs of water for the toilet. It was great to have everything that we "needed" back yesterday - but so great today!!!
Leah - they told us Wednesday too, but we lucked out. Good luck!!
I am in Pelham, and we just got power back late last night. We had been without since around 2am on Thurs. night/Fri. morning. We had three huge trees down on our street, and were blocked in (we live on a dead end). The neighborhood guys had to get out their chainsaws and clear the road, otherwise we would have been trapped! They did that Friday during the day, and we didn't see a single tree company or power utility truck until last night around 7pm. They worked for a few hours and got a portion of the street back on, the top of the street is still without, though.
We had a generator running, so that was good. At first, we only had a light and the fridge plugged in, but then FIL found some plug that allowed us to tap into the main electrical circut in the house, and we could run most things...had luke warm water, could watch DVD's on the TV, etc.
I teach in Hollis, and this is day 3 without school. And tomorrow we are supposed to get a few inches of snow. Oh my!
I live in Barrington and we are still without power, it went out sometime Thurs. night. We've had to stay with MIL in Barrington, b/c she has gas heat and a gas stove and she also bought a generator on Sun. so we could have hot water to shower and some lights and internet!
It may be several more days before we get power back, and even longer for MIL as there are still some lines down in her area. We went home today to empty the water heater and check on things. SOOOO cold in the house! I'm hoping the impending snow will not hinder the efforts to fix the lines!
All I want for Christmas is to be back in my own house nice and cozy!!
