Are my pork chops still good?
So I was without power for about 30 hours on Friday morning our frozen foods were starting to get soft (we have an oldish fridge that doesn't have the best seal - was like cooler temp in the fridge and a little colder in the freezer). In our freezer we had:
Frozen Pork Chops
Frozen cooked shrimp
Cooked breakfast sausages
WEDDING CAKE
Bagged Vegetables
Frozen dinners
Anyone know what is good and what will poison me if I try to eat it?
Oh yeah, what about the milk and cheese in my fridge???
Thanks!!

Just noticed this on WMUR.com

I consider myself pretty lucky. We got our power back relatively quickly so I didn't lose anything...I would have been pissed- I have a stand freezer as well as my regular fridge/freezer combo so I have a few hundred dollars in meat alone in my house at any given time.
I'm actually holding two bags of Mrs.DeputyChief's freezer contents in my stand freezer on top of my own stuff!
Thanks for the article - it was very helpful. I still count myself among the lucky - a little food loss is nothing compared to what I saw driving around.
Stay safe everyone!
