Where are the Great Christmas Light Decorations?
We saw some great ones in the Sunnyside subdivision off Hillsboro Pike btwn Sneed and Murray Lane this weekend but I wonder if there are any other really good over the top displays. (the type where the homeowner has a $5k electric bill for the month of Dec)
Re: Where are the Great Christmas Light Decorations?
George Jones lives just down the street from me in the Nestledown Farms neighborhood just off of Highway 96 East. You can't miss it! They have the biggest display around. My neighbors have their entire house outlined (it's a huge house) and it looks like a gingerbread house. There is also a house on Wilson Pike near McEwen Dr. that has a TON of lights....and they bought almost every inflatable known to man. I hate those inflatables!?
?And...on Highway 96 West there is a house next to my friend's who has a ton of decorations up....including the inflatables! The horses do not appreciate those things!??
We usually drive through Belle Meade looking at the lights on the big mansions. I agree with pp about the Brentwood Country Club / Murray Lane area too. Also, at the intersection of Franklin Rd and Murray Lane is my favorite Christmas "light" - there is a barn in the middle of the big horse farm that has a HUGE manager scene mural on the roof that is lit by a floodlight. It is the perfect "away in a manger"
My neighborhood in Brentwood has TONS of inflatables, if you're into that sort of thing. I have to imagine the parents do it for their kids, but I really wonder when that kicks in. I've got two kids and I'm no where near ready to bust out an inflatable snowglobe on my front lawn. Or wear holiday sweaters for that matter...
LOL!
Well, I asked my coworker, but it looks like you guys covered everything that he mentioned. Last year there was a great display spread over a few different homes off Bear Creek Pike near Columbia, but that's probably a bit of a drive for most of you.

Hahaha, I think you're talking about my parents' neighbors.
