So I explained everything to my realtor. She told me to dig up all our inspections/paper work and see if i can find the video tape of the pipes that they did when they inspected.
If I have the forms that state that the entire house has "new" pipes... we may have a case.
However, that being said... going to court and hiring a lawyer may end up costing us More than just paying for the pipes out of pocket.
I'll keep you posted.
Anyone on here have any experience with this???? Anyone a realtor or lawyer?
Re: Talked to my realtor
Nicole,
thanks for asking!
It went well. I'm doing much better. The doctor scheduled tests for next tuesday. So i'll know more on tuesday.
Fingers crossed!!
Have you spoken to the plumber who did the inspection? Maybe they will work a deal with you since it is there fault, and that way they can avoid a lawsuit. My FIL is in the termite buisness, but they deal with escrows and I know he'd rather correct a mistake for free than be sued.
Hope you get something resolved soon!
yea except DH didn't want to wait to call the other plumber. Chances are they wouldn't return our call anyway. The other plumber we called kinda had us in a corner.
They charged us 3k for being there all weekened cleaning out what roots they could so they could see the rest of the pipe. the camera/water pressure machine, and all that cost about 3k.
They said if we agreed to let them redo the pipe, they'd credit the 3k towards the price of the piping. If we wanted to go with someone else, we had to close the ticket and pay them the 3k, and then turn around and pay someone else full price.
We called a few people, their price was fair and accurate. So DH decided that we'd save some money if we just went ahead with them.
