This whole waiting thing is crazy

They were pretty sure I was going to go early because I went into preterm labor once and she's HUGE and her head is sooo far down... but now that I'm on maternity leave and no longer under physical or emotional strain I feel like she's never coming out...

Re: This whole waiting thing is crazy

  • I can only imagine! I was induced at 37 weeks so I never "went" into labor.  Well seriously, I know this over stated, but get some serious sleep, just catch up on all the movies you want because you won't be watching TV for the next 6 months! : ) (can you tell I am tired?)

Can you tell me the pronunciation of your Genevieve?  is is not veave? We were going to call her Genna (jenna) or something like that, didn't really work out the details obviously :) haha.

  • I'm actually loving watching all the Christmas movies and old movies that my hear desires! I've also been scrapbooking a lot, which has been fun...

Here's and audio of how it's prnounced :)http://inogolo.com/audio/Genevieve_1296.mp3

  • Wow, that is really really french :) Is your last name french too, I like it!

  • No, our last name is English. All of Mike's mom's side of the family is French, as well as his paternal grandmother's family. I'm not sure of the exact heritage of his paternal grandfather, but we ended up with his English last name!

We call her Vivi as a nickname and fully expect people to butcher her name. But then, people already butcher our names and we'repretty simple! I am CONSTANTLY being referred to as "Leselie Homestead" or "Leselie Almstead" and Mike is "Mike Homestead" or "Ike Lomestead." Our last nameis Olmstead BTW Wink

  • oh geez, people are so dumb.  Yeah, I would have assumed that you would assume people to butcher that name :)  People butcher Jacoby and I think that is easy, his middle name is Collopy (my maiden name) so he is just screwed too.  DH says

"it's not three fuucked up names, it's just 3 names people fuuck up" :)

How are you feeling? Any pressure "down there"? You are getting close!!

  • pressure on and off... lots of lower back cramping, but nothing consistant or time able. I'm so ready to go!
  • Best of luck and happy waiting! I thought, like everyone, that I would go early and I was a week late and scheduled to be induced. Waiting is SO hard... now I sit back and wonder if Ill ever have a quiet day to sit and watch a movie!
