been a little MIA lately. Just so busy with all these parties ansuch going on lately, not to mention we went out of townthis past weekend. I see a couple of newbies around...welcome to the board y'all!

Anyways I skimmed through most posts but I'm sure I missed a lot too...what's everyone up to now? and when are we gonna have a get together? (hopefully one I can actually come to now that my life will start slowing down again!)

Hi!! just getting ready for Christmas here. I get almost a week off from work which is great! I am all done shopping and ready to relax. We are staying in town thankfully.  Hope everything is going good for you!

Hey, things are good here too, just finishing up all the little things that need to be done before Christmas.  Friday is my last day of work until January 2nd and I am so excited I can hardly contain myself.

wow that kind of break muct be nice! can I be nosey and ask if it's paid? our work is putting a break in from christmas eve to Jan 5th but it isn't paid and I haven't been here long enough to access my PTO so I'm gonna be here all week probably all by my lonesome but oh well!! We're staying in town for Christmas and I've got everything done except a couple gifts to wrap that JUST came in the mail. I'm excited for Christmas to be here. Usually we go to my BIL and SIL (Brians brother and his wife) on Christmas eve afternoon so watch our nephew open his gifts from us. Then on christmas eve night it's ALWAYS been tradition that everyone go to my memaw S.'s house and open gifts there. The on Christmas morning, since we don't have kids and we spoil our niece like she's ours, after we open our gifts to one another we go and watch her open hers then off to my dads for a lite lunch with him and opening gifts (not so much us opening them as the kids) then off to my moms for christmas day dinner... whew it's packed but it's a lot of fun! I really enjoy the time with everyone I get to see...

Yeah my break is paid.  I was a contractor with my company for almost a year and had unpaid time off, but then when I went to full time I asked that my paid vacation time be calculated retroactively, so I got "paid time off" credit going back to my start date of Oct 07.  I'm taking such a long break because I can only roll over so many days to the next year, and if I don't take this time off now I'll just "lose it."  And I'm never one to "lose" earned paid time off

don't blame you there! sounds nice to get such a good break- but you did earn it if all your time before was unpaid. I can't wait until I accru that fabulous PTO here too... I get to access it at the end of this month but the pool is very shallow but it should be built to a few good days by time my honeymoon rolls around have a good break and do some sleeping in for me, will ya?
