Store refuses to make BD cake for Adolph Hitler

Just read this on AOL, can you imagine???

When you give your children names inspired by Nazism, you are pretty much asking for trouble. Finding your kids shunned and rejected by mainstream society would seem to be an obvious consequence of saddling them with such names, right? I guess 35-year-old Heath Campbell wasn't smart enough to have seen that coming when he named his children Adolf Hitler, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler.

Campbell, a self-proclaimed Holocaust denier, is outraged that the ShopRite grocery store in Holland Township, New Jersey refuses to make a cake that reads "Adolf Hitler" for his 3-year-old's birthday. Campbell's wife, 25-year-old Deborah is equally surprised. "ShopRite can't even make a cake for a 3-year-old," she said. "That's sad."

No, what is sad is that these two don't even appreciate what those names will mean for their children. The kids haven't started school yet, but when they do, their parents don't foresee any problems at all. "I just figured that they're just names," Deborah Campbell said. "They're just kids. They're not going to hurt anybody."

  • OMG! Why would you give your child a name like that. I know you are the parents and have every right to name your child whatever you choose but come on people. Naming you son Adolf Hitler?? That's asking for trouble. These poor kids will probably catch so much he!! I don't see why a parent would do this to a child. That is just mean. To each his own.

  • One of DH's best friends has the same name as little Adolf's father.  LMAO.
  • That is ridiculous!! It is sad that there are still people living that went through all of that and now have to run into an idiot who thought that it would be "cool" to same his son that.
  • I saw that last night on another forum I'm on.  Why would someone named their child something like that?
    Siggy coming soon....
  • Totally sad that the parents don't see any problems with this.  What are some people thinking!  Those poor children!

On an even sadder note is that I know a guy who my DH went to HS with that would actually do something like this.  Ignorance is a sad thing.

  • I posted this on Parenting last night. I feel so bad for that kid. I didn't realize until someone pointed it out that his sister's middle name is Aryan Nation.
    :-(
