Newly married, new baby and completely broke. He spends his money on comic books and comic seminars. He recently paid $450 for a first series of who knows what. His wife refuses to work, they live a friends garage and the church provides for most of their needs. He's asked, not borrowed, money from people in our office for diapers.
Last time we had a business luncheon, he took home everyone's left overs. Meaning, "are you done with those fries???" He took home my salad, he took home my rice pilaf and my bosses left over food remnants. BTW- he doesn't sit when he eats...oh no, he stands....he has a big long explanation for this....which basically means he wants to metabolize his food faster so he can eat more???
Today is our office lunch and he's already rubbing his hands together in anticipation! He asked what I was going to order so he could make sure to make a different selection. NO f'n joke. His words were, "left over buffets are the best!"
Seriously, where do they find these people???
And my boss was trying to be a wise guy and brought in a package of old chocolates from v-day. And guess who just opened the box????
Re: my new assistant is obnoxious!
How do people like this ever even pass the interview process to get a job in the first place?
Your assistant sounds exactly like dh's coworker. They are young, newly married, have a young baby and are renting a room in a trailer. The wife refuses to work and just recently threatened to leave because she wants another baby and he at least has brains enough to say no. He takes home everybody's leftovers and has asked for money too. He even asked dh if he could have Reese's old clothes. I told him no way! If they have money to burn on alcohol, tobacco and video games they have money to clothe their baby. I instead donated Reese's clothing to a battered woman's rescue to help people that are truely in need and trying to better themselves.
Seriously!!! How did this guy get hired?? People amaze me!!!
Jenn, I'm with you ... I'm more than willing to help people who are trying to help themselves. You don't want to help yourself, forget it!
Jenn- I refused to give him any of Ella's clothes either. I gave him a nice shower gift and that was it. The fact that his wife quit her job to be a SAHM without considering how this might impact her home was selfish. I am not a SAHM for a reason...
But what really set me off was when he informed me that he gifts money from his paycheck to his church!!! WTF! He's asking me and my co-workers for diaper $$$ and yet giving away $$ to his church???
It's crap...I don't feel bad anymore, now I just get grossed out and annoyed.
