I ran out to lunch real quick and came back not 30 minutes later to find a lot of people gathered in our parking lot. Someone busted the driver's side window out of one of my co-worker's cars and ripped out the dash, took the iPod, DVD player, etc. RIGHT IN OUR TINY PARKING LOT. They were parked right across from me, too.
I keep thinking- what if I had walked out to my car when they were doing that? What would have happened???? and what the heck is wrong with people? It's so sad.
Everyone please be careful and keep all valuables in a safe place and out of view. It can happen anywhere, anytime.
Re: 'Tis the season
Some people are just RIDICULOUS!!! Earlier this season, someone stole a little gift from my parents store--it was only worth $25.. My mom immediately confronted the lady about it, she denied it, and my mom looked in the lady's over-sized bag that was hanging from her shoulder and snatched it right back. It's just sad that people like this ruin the holiday for so many--it's an illness really!
OMG. Glad you weren't in the middle of that!
It's pretty true that you can avoid having your car broken into by keeping your valuables out of sight. I know someone who had their laptop stolen twice (separate occassions) from their car. A theif is going to go for the easiest thing, which is something in-sight and easy to get to. They won't pop the trunk of every car in the parking lot. Be safe!
VERY true. Make sure when you're doing your shopping, have gifts in your car, etc. too that you put them in the trunk, out of sight. This is PRIME time for theives to want to steal and break into cars.
Hope you're ok and that your co-worker is as well Steph!!!
I know! Crazy, right?! The car was parked right on that first row by where you parked.
He took some pics with my camera and already printed them off for insurance and such. Poor guy.
