Mommy support needed!

My maternity leave ends on monday, and I will head back to work....right after I drop Joey off at daycare for the first time ever :( I'm so worried that he will cry and they won't hurry to hold him. He has the sadest cry you've ever heard when he gets really upset, and then he is hard to calm. I'm probably worried for no reason, but I hate to hear my baby upset.

Re: Mommy support needed!

  • They will take care of him! It's their job! He'll love them (not more than his mommy, of course). Soon you'll be posting about how he cries because he doesn't want to leave his friends at school :o) You'll get through it. And you can call 18 times during the day to check on him!

  • I have no advice, just a big ((hug))!  I'm sure it will be really hard, but you can do it!
  • It will be hard at first but I promise it will get better! For me it was almost enjoyable in a way to be back. It will make you appreciate the time you have with Joey even more because you will have to treasure every second once you go back.

It will get a little better and easier each day, I promise!!

  • Joey will be fine....and you will be fine.  The first day I dropped Emma off, I cried.  they told me to call as often as I wanted. I called 3 times and went to visit during my lunch break.  She has so much fun and really likes her teachers.  I was also worried that they wouldn't be able to hold her as much as she needed, but they know that new babies need more love in the beginning while they get acclimated to their new surroundings.

The best is the little baby art projects that Emma makes at school.  I just brought home a few of her paintings.

  • Thanks for the reassurance :)

I just wish that he wasn't a preemie, maybe if he were a bit bigger and more developed for his age it would make me feel better. His adjusted age is only 5 weeks, so he needs the attention of a super brand new baby.
