On my way home from work on Tuesday I had this symbol on my dashboard that was flashing alerting that something was wrong. I got home and looked it up in the manual to find that I am having exhaust issues. Wonderful! So I took it in this morning to get fixed (still under warranty) and I just got the call that some big part is needed and it won't be in for another week or so. That's GREAT news...now I have NO car a week before Christmas and I have all kinds of appts...this should be interesting. He doesn't think it will be ready before Christmas and its not safe to drive until the part gets here so...perfect timing. It's not an old car either and I thought volkswagons were so reliable?? UGH! Sorry, I just needed to vent!
Re: Stupid cars...
That really sucks! At least it happened while it was under warranty, it sounds like something that could be expensive. Can you borrow a car from someone to use?
That really does suck Lesli. I hope they're able to get it back to you as soon as possible.
I would definitely inquire about a loaner car. Do you have a good relationship with the salesperson you bought the car off of? Personally I would call them first and explain the issue and ask if they think its possible to get a loaner car. When I had a sensor issue with my car the head service manager (BETH! I have nothing but pure hatred for this woman) gave me a really hard time about getting a loaner car when I brought my car in a second time to have something fixed that was incorrect the first time - read THEIR mistake. The first time I brought it in I dealt with my salesperson and he was more than accommodating . . but with the service dept I had to fight tooth and nail to get a loaner car to use while work was being done.
Oh yeah Jen, I remember all those issues with your car when I had my accident. I think I may call them back and discuss a loaner car. It isn't a HUGE deal that I don't have my car...it's more annoying than anything else. Luckily DH is working from home the next several days so he can just take me to the places I need to go or I will just take his car instead. It's nice that my mom can pick me up for work since we work together.
