Restaurants- Portsmouth or Manch

Hey ladies- trying to plan a bday dinner for my BIL and I need some restaurant suggestions  for either Portsmouth or Manchester.  He is pretty laid back, so nothing too fancy, but not an Applebee's either!  TIA!

Re: Restaurants- Portsmouth or Manch

  • I only know a couple restaurants in Manchester, but Fratellos is very good italian and not too fancy.
  • I love the Backroom (The Puritan) in Manchester. Yum!
  • downtown portsmouth has a lot of great restaurants, the gaslight, the portsmouth brewery, jumpin jays (if you like seafood). one of my favs is the Blue mermaid, they have caribbean/seafood.  There are plenty of others.  Just walking around downtown you'll run into lots of places.
  • manchester I love Cotton, Fratellos, Piccola

Portsmouth-Agave is my favorite!! really the best mexican food around.

  • Ports- Cafe Mediterraneo for Italian

  • I love Fratello's as well (my wedding reception location) although someone posted here that they recently got sick eating there.

I can't remember the name, but I've been wanting to try the Brazillian Barbeque in Manchester. We looked at it for a possible rehesrsal dinner. Very nice owners. Good food. All you can eat meat place.

Always like Unwind if he's a wine person. Laid back but not Applebees.
