Re: XP: Wow...#18!!

  • Wow...I love my DS...really...but 18???? IMHO, that's just too many...and part of me wonders...do all of those kids really ever feel like they get one on one quality time with their parents?
  • Ya know, I used to judge the Duggars, I admit it. However, I have a friend now who is very conservative in her beliefs and it's reminded me that sometimes, you just have to let people be.

I don't want 18 kids, and I don't see BC as something negative-but they have a different belief system than me. The kids aren't unhappy at all from the clips I've seen. They have their beliefs and they are all happy like they are. The oldest one is married now and he'll ?have a large family too someday-it's just what they think God wants them to do.

I do think it's strange, though, don't get me wrong! ?I can't fathom having that many. ? I guess I don't really feel negative towards them either. I guess I just wonder how many more Michelle could have. She is in her 40s after all! :-P

  • oh and just to add I don't disagree with the first comment either...I have always wondered how they spend time with individual kids too.

  • I just can't imagine...

  • I think that is crazy.  I won't disagree that the kids don't look happy but I just don't think you could really know your children if you had 18 of them.  My dad is from a larger family- 8 kids total and he says that was hard to really bond with his parents (they are very close now).  I just can't imagine how chaotic their house is.

  • How do they afford it?  Do they get help, welfare, just wealthy?
  • No not welfare-The parents have different businesses going on and the dad used to be in politics, and there's money from the TLC/Discovery TV shows. ?They're going to broadcast a special about their son's wedding too-I bet that pays nicely.

Ah, I didn't realize there was a tv show.
