Bummed :(
Michaela leaves for CA today and will be gone for 15 days. It'll be the longest she's ever been away from home and the first time she's been gone for the holidays. I can't even get into the holiday mood this year 
On a good note though, her dad called yesterday and said that since he didn't have any jobs scheduled for today that he would just drive the whole way out here to pick her up. We didn't want to mess with the crowds at the airport and had planned on meeting half way. YAY for not having to spend 6 hours on the road and in the car with the kids by myself!!!!

Aww Jenn, you'll be fine. I was away from my son last Christmas too, but the time actually flew by and I kept in touch with him throughout his trip.

Sorry for Michaela leaving for the holidays. ?I am sure it is quite hard, I can't even imagine it.
But yay for her dad coming to pick her up so you don't have to do all that driving! ?It makes me smile & feel very happy to see Dads who really want to be a part of their kid's life and going the extra mile for them.?
