We are getting a puppy!!

My husband and I have decided to get a puppy!  We are adopting one from a foster home.  We are so excited.

Does anyone have any vet recs?

Re: We are getting a puppy!!

  • We are really happy with our vet.  I don't know where you live, but we go to Mason Vet Clinic with Dr. Main.  We have been going there for about 4 years with our cats and now with our puppy.

Good luck with the puppy!  What kind are you getting?

  • We go to Patterson Veterinary Hospital in Mason. I don't know where you live but their prices are very reasonable and everyone there is very good.

    Enjoy your new puppy!

  • We go to Dr Main as well.....he and his wife are very nice.  I drive from lansing to see them.

  • We are getting a black lab mix.  We are not in Mason a lot but we are willing to check into a good vet anywhere in the area.
  • Dr Patterson's is Mason is worth the drive.. My parents drive from Grand Ledge. They dont work on appts, its first come first serve and sometimes you can wait for over an hour... but with the money you save its worth every penny, especially if you ever have a sick puppy.

I started going there when my old dog had an ear infection and I took him to my vet at the time and it cost me well over $100 for a visit, exam and meds. The infection came back and a friend told me to try pattersons, I was in and out for $34.00, that was exam, drops and meds.

  • We drive to see Dr. Patterson in Mason.  They are only open during set times so call before you go.  Also last I knew they had a 6 month waiting list for spay and neuter.  So you may want to set that up ASAP.
  • Dr Patterson is ok for shots and minor needs, however I DO NOT recommend him for any sort of surgery.  Multiple dogs have died as of recent that I know of personally.  There have also been a lot others that I have been made aware of but do not know of personally.  I found this out after my two male dogs were neutered and one had severe complications.  We also had to put our cat to sleep due to his misdiagnosis which then caused kidney failure in my cat.
