Hotel Question

Hi ladies!  Dh and I live in Houston and are coming to San Antonio this summer.  We have never been, but plan to do Sea World, Alamo, Riverwalk while we are there.

We found a Ramada on Culebra Road (1-410 Exit 10) and I was just wondering if you all could tell me if that's a pretty decent area to stay?  We know it is supposed to be close to Sea World, which is what we were going for.

 TIA!

Re: Hotel Question

  • I personally would not stay there.  I was at a hotel this past week for a test preparation class it was a La Quinta at 1-10 and Medical. It is right by the I-10 and 410 exchange. Everyone was super friendly, they had a good breakfast buffet, and a nice pool and courtyard.  Now I did not stay in their room's so I have no idea on that part.  I use to live in Houston and San Antonio is much smaller and not spread out like Houston is.  I think some girls live over by sea world so maybe there are Hotels out that way.
  • i wouldn't stay there either.  can you look up any along 1604 area? i know there are a few like la quinta and holiday inn near 151/1604 where sea world is. much better area to be. 410 and culebra isnt the best way to go. but if you are also looking for stuff between downtown and sea world,PP is right, medical and i-10 is a great area, and plenty to choose from.

  • Thanks for the replies and suggestions.  We are trying to stay within a budget of about $100 per night and that was the one my DH came up with.  I am glad I asked...will check into some others!
  • Try a Drury Inn. They are nice and super affordable. Plus... they have free happy hour drinks.

There is one on the River Walk, one at Stone Oak and 1604, one by the airport and, one at Wurzach and 410. All locations are much more desirable than Culebra and 410.

  • The new Drury will be open by then also at I10 and 410 near La Cantera mall. This would be a great location for getting to Sea World, and good shopping.
