Nursery is painted!

We first cleared out the nursery and started working on the trim work over a month ago. We finally finished the trim, crown moulding and all the paint this weekend.

Next up: installing the small chandelier and start sewing the drapery panels!

And yes... we are having a girl and our nursery is still blue. I just love the color!

Re: Nursery is painted!

  • It looks great.  I love the blue.
  • Here are the fabrics I'm using. The striped fabric will be used for the drapes, the blue polka dot for the bumper and the brown polka dot for the crib skirt. I'm so excited about it!

Here is the chandelier we ordered.

  • I can't see the pics of the painted nursery, but LOVE your fabrics!  I think the colors are still perfect for a girl. :-)  The inspiration nursery is gorgeous, too.
  • I have that same pic saved, now I will have to save yours!  I loved the moulding!  I love blue for a girl and think it will turn out so beautiful.  Have sewing.
  • Cute!  I hope to have mine painted in January sometime.

I love the Chandelier.  Where did you find it?   I am trying to find a purple/lavendar one without breaking the bank :)

  • It looks great!!  I love all the fabrics and they'll really compliment the wall color.  You'll have to post pics after you get it all done.
  • Thanks everyone!

Nicole.. I got the chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids. We had a couple of giftcards left over from our wedding a couple of years ago that we never used. If you are looking for a chandelier in a specific color, maybe look on ebay?

  • It's coming together beautifully!  Post pics when you're finished.  Rick does not understand the chandelier in the nursery idea.  I'm glad I'm not the only one that appreciates it.
  • I didn't know for sure that I was having a girl the first time but I just "felt" that the baby would be a girl and I did the nursery in primarily blue with some touches of pink and white. I also "felt" that her eyes would be blue...they were, and today her favorite color is blue. I think blue is beautiful for girls and I love your nursery.
  • It looks great!  I can't wait to see pics when it is finished.
  • Lydia I love love love that color!!  I think blue is a great color for a girl.  I can't wait to see finished pictures :)

Thanks!!  Oh I LOVE PBK.  I will check out Ebay.

  • I like it. I think blue is totally fine for a girl.

  • lydia, i LOVE that color! what color is it if you don't mind my asking?

i like that you're stepping out of the box. pink's not for all girls :)

  • Lauren.. the color is called "Stillness" by Glidden at Home Depot. It looks a lot more Tiffany-blue in the photos than what it is in person.

My DH said the white and blue reminds him of a 1950-something Chevy.

  • Ahh, finally I can see it from home!  You guys did an amazing job!  Really love the color, too.  I can't wait to see the finished nursery.
  • I couldn't see it at work today either, but now that I'm home and can see it it looks great!  I love the fabric and chandelier.  I can't wait to see the finished result.
    Siggy coming soon....
  • I love it!!! I like the fact that it's not done in all pink-- Abby's room is ladybugs (but not the pink ones) it's red, black, and green -not pastels either...And Sydney's room is the sage, yellow, and cream.  I like the fact that it's not all pink.
  • It's so pretty!
