Is there a quick way to make a banana brown?

I have one brown banana, but I need two to make my banana bread, the ones I bought are still greenish. Any tips?

Re: Is there a quick way to make a banana brown?

  • Sometimes if mine has been in m lunchbox against the ice pack it gets brown. Maybe refrigerate it?
  • I googled (of course) and it said to put in a brown bag with either an apple or tomato.  Good luck - three things that make me go "ick!"  :)
  • The fridge for sure....or the freezer, but then you are dealing with frozen bananas

  • I left one in the car overnight once on a very cold night.  Next morning it was all brown and actually scared me a little!
  • I've heard using a brown bag, too.

On another note, I've made banana bread with bananas that weren't completely browned. I found the bread to still taste good, just not as banana-y as when I used browned bananas. I think the most difficult part was mashing up the unripe bananas.
