Dark under-eye circles

I've had dark circles under my eyes for as long as I can remember.  I've tried a few concealers, yet some crease and some don't work all day.  The circles tend to get worse with lack of sleep and that's been pretty regular lately (don't know why)

Is there any good concealer that you gals could recommend or maybe something that I could put under my eyes to make the circles dimish/go away?

Re: Dark under-eye circles

  • I was watching ELLEN the other day and there was a lady on there who said painting liquid Pepto (the pink stuff) on your face helps with discoloration. but maybe that was for redness, not sure....

Sorry I can t help more

  • I have horrific undereye circles, and this is what I do:

First, after I put my foundation on and set it with powder, I dab a little bit of foundation on my finger and pat it out on my under eye circles, then set it with powder.

Next, I apply Stila Perfecting Concealer under my eyes and on the inside of the bridge of my nose and set it with powder.

Stila's Perfecting Concealer is very thick and sort of pasty, so a little bit goes a LONG way. I've found that if I even out my under eye circles with foundation first and then put on concealer, I don't have to use as much so it doesn't crease.

I've had my tube for a year and I'm just now about to need to replace it.

  • Thanks!!!  I'm going to get some ASAP!!
  • My son has struggled with this problem since he was a little boy. With him it's just allergies or hereditary or a combination of both...being in the makeup industry for so long we've tried all kinds of things. All About Eyes, by Clinique helps a little. For some people vitamin K cream helps. Merle Norman's wrinkle smoother for eyes helps. Be really careful with concealers because if they are not applied properly, they can actually emphasize the problem. Always use a moisturizing eye cream prior to using concealer and try to get by with as little concealer as possible. When I do makeovers on people with dark circles I also use a tiny brush for the concealer. Apply your concealer in an x motion...hope that makes sense. :)
  • Don't laugh - the best stuff I've found has been off QVC.  It's by Laura Geller, and it's called "Caulk".  The stuff is amazing.  I use it, and then just do my powder on top of it.  Fabulous.

  • I also have horrible dark under eye circles! I have started using Arbonnes eye cream. It is part of there anti aging line! I didn't know if I could tell a difference and then I saw my granny and aunt who hadn't seen me in awhile. They said something to me about my face looking different! They said they could tell that under my eyes had gotten lighter! I use this stuff religiously now! Its great stuff!
  • I have the same problem...I blame being half Italian...  I use a combination of

     Lancome Maquicomplet Correcteur http://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/concealers/maquicomplet.htm

    and Cargo OneBase http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=85256&catid=12974&cmbProdBrandFilter=31513&mp=true&aid=337568&aparam=cargo_onebase_concealer_&CAWELAID=60377581in

Each one lasts forever.  I probably replace the Lancome one about once a year and the Cargo I've had even longer.

  • I use my BeautiControl yellow primer and if the circles are really dark I'll add some concealer on top of it.  The primer also comes in pink, which is a similar-in-idea but safe and allergy-test alternative to Teakum's coworker's Pepto method, lol.  It's pretty cheap to ($8) and also comes in yellow and mint.  Let me know if you want to try some.  (I hate to sound like a vendor - just sharing what works for me)
