NYE - Will you stay up?

What do you normally do?  I'm sure DH and I will be in bed (our anniversary is 1/1), even if we do stay up, we'll just hang on the computer.  We don't really care to see the ball drop, I know some people love it though.

Re: NYE - Will you stay up?

  • We typically stay home and are fast asleep usually by 11 pm.  So far we've been invited for a New Years Bash by one friend, an evening of Wii and munchies by another friend and yet another celebration at my SIL house.  I think my going to bed early ritual is going to be compromised this year.
  • Yes, we always stay up. This year we are having people over to our house, so who knows what time we will go to bed! :)
  • Since i've been dating / Married we've always stayed in at New Years playing board games with friends and/or family members. We're typically in bed by 12:30 or 1:00.  hehe...

This year, we're trying something different, going downtown to the first night saint louis or whatever it's called. :)

  • We always stay up. We're not always out when midnight strikes though. I think this year we are going to Lumier Place.

  • going to the Pageant for Dr. Zhivegas!
  • We will probably go to a movie and maybe a casual dinner.  And try to stay away for the ball drop, but we never make it!
  • I LOVE staying up and doing different things on NYE...  Usually one year we go out of town (so far, we've done NYC, Big Bear, Guanajuato MX and Cancun MX) and the next year we stay in...  This year we're probably staying in, we might do something with our 1 friend in the city and his GF, but that's not for sure.... I would love it if they invited more people over so we would have more of a party environment Smile
  • My husband and I are usually the ones to through the party. I love having people over and we usually stay up until around 2am. I love New Years Eve.  It's hard for me to understand why everyone doesn't.  There's so many good memories for me. I think this year we'll play some board games and watch a few movies.
  • This year we are going out for an early dinner and then home to watch the ball drop.  We've had people over the last few years and last year did not go well.  Several of DH's friends were going to spend the night so that they didn't drink and drive.  They just wouldn't settle down and go to sleep.  I think they finally gave up around 6 a.m.  I was NOT a happy camper.  Here's a tip ~ when the host of the party is going to bed that's your clue to go to bed too.  I mean come on these aren't young guys they are all in their mid 40's and should grow up!

    Rant over...

  • Normally we go out or are at a friends house so we're usually up wayyyyy past midnight, but this year I think we're going to lay low.  I think we may watch the *** Clark's show and maybe play a game or two and call it a night.  So hopefully it will be pretty uneventful this year.  But it is still 2 days away and things could change.  Smile
