Have you always lived in the STL area?
My family has always lived in STL, DH's is scattered all over. I know we have a few girls on this board that have moved here from other areas. Were you born here, or did you move here?
Re: Have you always lived in the STL area?
Nope. Born in Washington, DC, reared in south Mississippi, undergrad in Nashville, worked in Memphis, more work & grad school in Boston.
Moved to STL @ age 27. Met DH 3 months later and that was that.
FWIW, I've met VERY few people here who aren't from here.
I was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico (immediately South of San Diego), lived there all my life until DH and I got married and I moved to San Diego with him (March 2006). DH was born in Omaha, NE because his dad was in the AF stationed there, they moved to San Diego when he was 7... So we both lived in the Southern California area (and weather) all/most of our lives...
Then we moved here this summer, I moved on August 2, and he got here 4 weeks later. I still miss San Diego like crazy, but only for my friends, I'm actually getting used to the weather here
Born & raised here. Went to college in state, but not in St. Louis. Live out of state for about 5 or 6 years - split between AL, TN & MS. DH got a promotion when I was 6 months pg that meant we had to move back. We weren't looking to move back, but that's just the way it worked out.
DH's extended family is from the area but he grew up in northern Minnesota. Both of our siblings (and DH's parents) are scattered all over the US.
I have to agree that the majority of people in STL are from STL and would never consider living anywhere else.
