Greenville area ladies and any animal lovers....

I STRONGLY suggest that you do NOT adopt a dog, cat, etc from "Animal Welfare of Laurens County." In truth, you're merely buying a dog from a woman who runs an irresponsible organization. Steve and I found this out the hard way yesterday. We adopted a 9 week old pup from her last Sunday and found out-after 12 hours of the pup getting sick Thursday night/Friday morning that he has parvo. How did he get it??? Basically his misfortune is the result of Apryl Westfield giving him an improperly stored vaccine-and on top of that, we didn't find out that SHE gave him the vaccine (and not a licensed veterinarian) until after all this started happening yesterday.
Kool, the pup, is still at the Animal Emergency Clinic under 24 hour supervision for the weekend and he hasn't gotten sick but he's not being an active puppy right now. We're keeping our fingers crossed that he comes through this-his vitals are still looking good, he's just sleepy right now-and that he doesn't become a victim of an irresponsible woman who in our opinion has no business (and takes no responsibility for any of this) housing or "fostering/adopting" any animal.
Again, do not adopt from Animal Welfare of Laurens County and PLEASE keep your fingers crossed that our lil pup pulls through this and is able to come home and be his normal, active self very soon!!!

  • ***Update****

We were able to bring Kool home this afternoon, and so far he's back to his healthy puppy ways. I'll keep you all up to date on how he's doing. fingers crossed he stays healthy!!!!

  • Oh I'm so glad he's doing well!  I read your message on Facebook about it.  That is just horrible about that lady though!  Zach said you may be able to sue them for the medical costs since they did not properly vaccinate him.

  • Believe me, we've gone through every possible consideration. You'll have to come meet him though-he's such a sweet pup. BTW-what's your NYE plan looking like? I think we're just gonna hang out at the house and avoid all the crazies-lol. I have to work that day, but I'm off Thursday so we'll be relaxing and getting stuff done around the house-in truth we'll probably be watching the rose bowl-or at least part of it on thursday, but other than that we're pretty much just gonna kick back. Let me know if you want to try to catch up at some point.

Tell Zach thanks for the insight and hopefully we'll see you two soon!! Big Smile
