  • I'm here! Christmas was good, very special of course with it being Haley's first. But she slept through the first round of gifts on Christmas Eve on grandpa's lap! It was too cute to watch her sleep through all of the excitement.

For the new year...just enjoy the time with Haley and all of the milestones to come.

How was your Christmas? What did Emma think about everything?

  • Am I the newlywed Rachel?  Because I'm not really a newlywed!!! :)

  • Ha !  Not you chach....I went to a wedding in November for Rachel who worked with my husband for a while.

Christmas was good.  Emma was surprisingly good at pulling paper off of presents......only because she wanted to put it in her mouth.  I think new year will be quiet for us.  We are going to a friend's house for the bowl game on thursday.  We are excited for a new year and all of miss emma's firsts.

  • Christmas was good for us too!  We went to my family in southern IL.  We were thinking about visiting friends in Chi for NYE but now probably going to find somewhere to go locally because of our new puppy.
  • I had a good Christmas, we had Christmas Eve at my MIL's house and Christmas day at our house. Noah opened the first 2 or 3 gifts and then didn't care after that. He just wanted to play with those toys. So, DH and I mostly opened Noah's gifts. My parents bought him so many toys! lol

For New Year's we actually have a babysitter so we are going to a party at our friend's house. We have spent NYE with them for the past 4 years. By now its just tradition. haha  I am really excited about it. DH and I need some time out for adult time.

  • I'm an ocassional poster so I'm not really a regular or a lurker...I guess I'm caught in between!

Both H and my families reside in upstate NY so we don't typically go home for Christmas because the weather is so unpredictable...hence the mid 50s we saw on Saturday. Otherwise our Christmas was good. We don't really get into the gift giving since we don't have children. we pretty much do things all year long that would constitute Christmas spending. This year we went to Napa CA, a caribbean cruise, Finger Lakes NY, Birmingham AL for a football game and lots of other camping trips and such. So we were very fortunate this year to do everything that we did.

  • On Christmas Eve Robert had the day off and I only worked a half day, so we went to the Lansing Mall and finally got a holiday tablecloth and stocking hangers (late, I know, but we were able to get the hangers for half off, so that was worth it Big Smile).  Robert also decided to get us lunch at the Red Cedar Grill, so that was very special.  I think I'd like to make it a tradition for us to go out for lunch on Christmas Eve.  This was our first Christmas without being in the U.P. with our families, and we really enjoyed it.  We went to a candlelight service on Christmas Eve and then went home, baked sugar cookies for Santa, opened one gift each, and went to bed.  On Christmas we got up at 7 to open stockings and gifts, had french toast with homemade maple syrup for breakfast, and spent the rest of the day napping, playing games, and cuddling.  We finally made our steak and potato dinner around 6pm.  It was the most relaxing Christmas I've ever had.

For New Years Eve we're hopefully going to be going out to a club, but if not, we will make mushroom soup and have a bottle of pomegranate wine.

  • lmzadi07 - sometimes those are the best holidays. I like that fact that we don't have to cater to anyone and can do things on our own time. Hanging out in our pjs just enjoying the company of each other is great.
  • We had a great Christmas! This was Joey's very first Christmas. We went to my MILs on Christmas eve morning and spent most of the day there. In the evening we went to Jeff's aunts house and had a prime rib dinner and opened more gifts. This is a very very special dinner for our family. We got home a little after midnight and while Joey was passed out in his car seat, we opened our gifts! The next morning we opened Joey's gifts with him. Then we spent some time in the pediatric ER because Joey woke up from a nap with an inguinal hernia!
  • Amber - I Hope Joey is ok!

Our Christmas wasn't bad.  We did Christmas Eve with Eric's side at his aunts in Webberville and then drove to Saginaw on Christmas to spend it with my side.

We are going to our friends New Years Party and I'm taking my wine and enjoying it, since I can!  Smile

  • Poor Joey!  I hope he is doing well.

  • Hi Ellen! It's Rachel. So oops... I kind of forgot about the Lansing board for awhile. I'll have to check here more often!

That little Emma - she is so beautiful!

  • Amber! Boo for a hernia!!! My sis had one and she was a preemie, too.

Christmas was great. We saw all of our family for the most part. It's nice to have family so close :o)

We're having a few people over for New Year's Eve and I bought myself some sparkling grape juice hehe.

  • I just remembered about this board. I will try to remember to check more often! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

We're going to The Exchange tonight with DH's aunts and uncles to watch a cover band that is supposed to be pretty good. Horray for DH's uncle who volunteered to drive and pick us up on the way and drop us off!!
