what is everyone's plans for getting back in shape?
I'm doing couch to 5k starting january 1... I am so afraid =P My goal is by this time next year I'll have run my first 5k.

I'm already working out at the gym but I really need to get better about my eating. That's the hardest part for me. I need to get into the habit of writing down everything I eat and count calories, which is a pain in the ass but it's effective.
I also want to work on my running as well. I can jog a mile in 10-12 minutes but I want to up my pace and increase my distance because I would like to run in a 5K this year as well.
Yeah, my eating isn't great either so I'd like to get better about that as well. I don't think I can even jog a full mile yet
I have NO endurance. whatsoever.
I've missed seeing you on here! I have a similar problem...I don't eat bad foods. My problem is the amount of food I eat. And I don't exercise which doesn't help either. A couple years ago I lost 38 pounds doing Advanced Weight Loss and have gained almost all of it back since I stopped using the program.
I have been planning on doing couch to 5K also..I just need to find a good way to monitor my time/distance.
Did you have a good Christmas? I saw your facebook pictures, and they were absolutely fabulous. You looked beautiful in the pic of you and Jason.
annie, you can SOO run a 5k by this time next year. a couple of years ago i started a beginner running program and could run a 5k (on treadmill, where i trained) in about a month. i used to die running for a minute and i worked up to that. so trust me, anyone can do it!
our local gym is holding a competition starting jan. 10..you get points based on amt of time worked out, days you work out, participation in classes + overall weight/fat % lost at the end of the competition. Dh and i are planning on going hardcore w/ it. we get crazy competitive, so I'm hoping that'll help me stick to it!
i'm running every other day and doing strength training at the gym on the off days. probably throw a yoga class or so in there every once in a while

Lets be couch to 5k buddies! I haven't started yet... But I did finally go get fitted for a good pair of running shoes at Track Shack. Apparently I have only chosen ill-fitting running shoes (probably because they're cute :P) until now.
That is awesome about advanced weight loss! No weight loss program has ever worked for me I'm tempted to try WW's new momentum program, it looks a little less rigid than the points or core plan and is a little more focused on lifestyle changes. What do you have to do for advanced weight loss?
I had a great christmas! It was really quiet, but I like it that way How about you??? Did you guys do a lot of traveling?

Did you see that Jillian Michaels has a wii game now and you can use your balance board for it?! way cool... I want Wii Fit!
Consider me your couch to 5K partner...It will be great for me to have someone to hold me accountable. I've just got to make DH go with me because I hate walking alone in the dark. I know I am a baby!
Advanced Weight Loss is a physicians assissted program. You get injections of vitamins and fat burners, and they have the option of an appetite supressant. I also stopped drinking anything but water, and exercised 5 times a week.
It wasn't healthy though...my hair started falling out and I was tired all the time.
Our Christmas was filled with driving all over the place, and I was sick so it made it a very exhausting couple of days. But, still very good.
I'm glad that things at work have slowed down for you a bit. We still need to have our mini GTG at olive branch sometime. Maybe after year end is over for me. (the end of January)
Eeek! That sounds kind of scary! I've heard stuff like that has great results though.
I'm making DH do it with me too. I know he could probably already run a 5k, but I need someone to help me stay on track at least until I start forming some habits.
So when do you want to check in with each other? once a week? I'm game for a mini gtg!! Just let me know when your schedule opens up!

Thaaaanks!!! The blanket is something my mom crocheted for dh and myself for christmas... it's a prayer blanket- every time she crocheted stitches she said a prayer for us. It's very neat!

I already go to WW, but I've been in maintenance mode since Thanksgiving, so I need to give myself a big kick in the a$$ to get back into losing mode.
I started the couch to 5K running program yesterday, and I'm determined to do Yoga on a regular basis.

I'm the worst runner in the world. c25k supposedly helps with that
