I'm back!

::waves::  I'm so jetted lagged at the moment that I don't know what to do next.  I'm waivering between starting a pot of coffee and closing my eyes to sleep.  But since I'm at work I think it will have to be option #1 - coffee.

The trips was excellent!  We arrived Monday afternoon (but our luggage didn't) and my brother picked us up and we headed to Santa Cruz.  We got ready for dinner and to surprise my parents. K and I waited outside the restaurant while my parents and brother waited for a table.  It started to ran a bit so we decided to surpise them while they waited at the bar.  I walked up to them and said "I heard you were having a family dinner, so why weren't we invited?"  My mom just stared at us.  I thought there would be tears but I think they were too shocked for tears.  We all had dinner and then we went home with my parents (after going back to the airport for a missing luggage).

We spent the next 2 days visiting friends with babies :-)  We played with kids ranging from 2 months to 8 years. Christmas morning my brother and his girlfriend joined us for breakfast and then my parents drove K and I to Sacramento.  We joined her family in Folsom for Christmas dinner.  I was really happy that my parents were able to celebrate with us and her side too.  They quickly became friends with another set of "in-laws" and all was good.

Friday we ate at our favorite pub and then hung out with K's family.  Saturday we went to SF for the day and wandered the piers.  We met up with K's family for a birthday party dinner and then I flew out late Saturday night.

All in all it was a great trip.  I could probably bore you with a ton of details but I won't.  I realized I still do miss home, but there is no way I could live near K's family 24/7. Love them dearly but they take energy.

I just put the coffee on so I'll get a cup and catch up on posts. :-)
