It's just shy of 7 months since my wedding, and I still don't have an album. Heck, I don't even have the proof of the album. We selected our pictures for the album in August, and have been given no updates unless we call and ask. The photographer only shoots the photos, his assistant handles everything else. I have a sneaking suspicion that our photos may not have been sent off to the company that produces the albums.
I'm trying to figure out what to do at this point. I'd be happy to just have the copyright release for the pictures and take them to another photographer that can create an album for me, but I don't know if I'll be able to get that. Any suggestions from the photographers out there?
Re: Question for the photographers
wow! ?that is totally unacceptable IMO! ?For the weddings I shoot, I give proofs within 6-8 weeks and once the pictures are chosen for the album, I have it designed and ordered. ?Sometimes it can take a couple of months for the album coming in (especially the ones ordered from Italy) but that is PRINTING time! ?You should have had a proof a looooong time ago. ?I'm so sorry!
I would say contact them and say that you need a response in X amount of time as to when the proofs will be available or see if they can offer something in it's place- like the digital negatives like you mentioned. ?
I know that must be frustrating! ?I'd be so excited to get it and see it!!?
Thanks for the advice. I'm trying to figure out what amount to offer for the digital negatives. The 5 albums we ordered were just over $1600, and I can't see making a fair trade of no albums, but I get the negatives.
