Re: n/a
So does your husband not want his family either ? Does he not like entertaining ? Can you have some compromises ?
I am kinda like your husband where I don't like having guests stay for a long time. I like my peace and my space. So I can sympathize with him. A few years ago, my husband told his grandparents they could stay with us for a few days without consulting me and I was mad. I mean I understood why he did it, but ya know, it is my house too and I should have had a say in whether or not we had over night guests.
On the other hand, this is your home too and if you like entertaining and having guests over, then you too have that right.
My advice to come up with ground rules now. For example, if you are having friends over, then everyone has to be out by midnight. Overnight guests can only stay for three days, and you guys will only host overnight guests once a month or whatever timetable you both agree on.
I also want to say that I think it is pretty crappy that your family treats your home like it is a hotel. And why in the world would you sister start a fight with you because you can't accommodate her family, that is pretty rude and if this is typical behavior from them, then I can definitely see where your husband is coming from.
