What are your current pet peeves with your SO?

This is more than just a current thing but since it's happening as I type this-

When H picks his toes on the couch next to me. The clicking sound drives me CRAZY!!! I keep telling him to go use some nail tools or do it in the bathroom but he insists on doing it with his fingernails (which he also doesn't have much of so the toenail picking takes forever). UGHHH!! I can hear it through the other room!

  • He is a loud sneezer.  And his sneezes come out of no where.  There is no build up.  Just a loud "CCCHHOOOOO."
  • disney mine is like that too! scares the crap out of me every time!!!

mine is messy, not in a terrible way but im more of a neat freak. Just irks me, I came home after work and the gym, he was at a meeting and there were dishes in the sink, his shoes left out in two different places and a dirty shirt on the dresser!!!

  • Mine is messy too but it is definitely exacerbated by my own neat freak habits. It isn't uncommon for me to trip over his shoes because he leaves them out too!

  • I have the same "messy" issue. However my bigest pet peeve when my H is talking to me and will walk to another room while doing this. Say we're having a conversation in the living room and in process will walk to the kitchen. He knows I have a hear deficiet so this irritates me to no end. LOL now I say what are the chances you think I heard a word you just said

  • My fiance tends to spend way, way more time online than is really necessary--I think he's addicted to Facebook games. He also tends to sleep in (in my opinion) way too late on his days off, so if we have plans together they have to wait until mid-afternoon or later because he's not up until noon or so.

Sometimes it bothers me more than others. For the most part, I'm okay with it.

THIS IS ME. It scares the crap out of my fiance! Except my buildup is the loud part, and then I stop my sneezes, so it just sounds like an abrupt and obnoxiously loud HRRAAAAAGH--! Poor guy.

Haha yes the loud sneezing, the amount of gas he lets out and he's so proud of it, he's lazy sometimes in regards to going out, he exaggerates and tends to ramble about stories and repeats himself. He also has a sourpuss when he's angry
  • Current pet peeve. He is "gearing up" for faculty week (aka short faculty meetings and drunk fest) with his friends and he has spent 50 buck on alcohol so far this week. It is only Wednesday. Gearing up for that conversation later tonight.

Also he showers when he is bored. Which lately has been 3 times a day. Thankfully we don't pay for water/electric. I don't know why it bothers me but it drives me crazy. Haha,

  • My husband likes to stand and eat when he's at home, mostly at the kitchen counter or bar.  I just want him to sit down with me and eat together!  (which he does once in a while).  So weird!!

  • My DHs theory is "if it fits, it sits." If he brings something home or has something in his hand, he doesn't put it away where it belongs. He sets it somewhere random that's convenient for him. For example, there are pay stubs from his checks all over the house. Every table has some form of his stuff on it. He also leaves laundry everywhere. I put a pop up hamper on his side of the room and he piled stuff on TOP OF IT. Not in it, on top of it. It collapsed and was buried under the pile. I was livid.
  • My husband is also messy.  The clothes are scattered throughout the house and it never ceases to amaze me that the laundry makes it (sometimes) to a pile next to the hamper but never IN the hamper.
  • video games.

He plays them nonstop and when he does, he ignores anything and everyone!

"Honey, what do you feel like doing today?"

    "..."

    "Babe?"

    "..."

    "Are you serious???"

And he forgets ALL THE TIME!

    This!

My H is the exact same way.  It drives me insane!!!!!!!!!

  • DH likes to play Jeopardy with me. As in, I say something that we have scheduled or need to do or some info I have to tell him, and later that day he asks me the question.

I have the same problem. When his clothes are dirty he puts them NEXT to the dirty clothes basket! And when I ask him why he doesn't put them in, he says they aren't "laundry dirty" yet. So put them back in the drawers! Ugh! I have a hard time finding the line between my neat freakness and his laidback attitude. I wish there were guidelines for what is acceptable and what is not! :)

Ha ha, this is my Dh exactly. And shoes. He leaves his shoes everwhere despite the fact that I actually bought a shoe rack. :)

  • Omg, my DH is the same with just putting things wherever he happens to put them, and then they never get put away. For example, after I convinced him to mop, the mop bucket lived in our dining room for a week (with dirty water in it), then got emptied and stayed in the bathroom for another couple of days until I gave up and put it away. And he's the king of putting things "near" where they go, but not actually putting them away. I also find laundry on top of the hamper, dishes on top of the dishwasher, and god forbid there's a large bowl to put away - he will cram it on top of the smaller bowls rather than pick them up and put them inside the large one. :)
  • He talks too damn much. He talks when I'm in the middle of a tv show. Like straight up starts a whole new conversation during a show. Whenever its his turn to make dinner (which is rare) he talks so much the whole time he's making it that it takes entirely too long and we eat at 9 o clock. He once had the simple task of making pasta, with jarred sauce mond you, and it took 2 fucking hours. I didn't know if I should have smacked him or laughed at him.

You're describing my H 100%! I am glad we are all not alone in this :)

  • Mine slams the toilet seat. I mean, at least he puts it down in the first place, but don't just let it drop!
He also leaves packages of food out; meats just sitting open in the fridge, opened bag of cereal on the counter, etc. Drives me crazy!
  • IMO, he plays too rough with our lab puppy.  I'm always so worried she's going to get hurt while they're wrestling around and he always gets irritated when I ask him to be gentler because I'm "micromanaging."  UGH!

  • When I want to go to sleep and he is still working on a work project, I'll kiss him goodnight and go to bed. He brings his laptop to bed and while I'm trying to snooze he is clicking the keys or his super loud mouse button. If I ask him to stop or leave the room he will tell me "oh babe I just want to be near you."

  • My pet peeve is every morning (and I mean EVERY morning) DH will clear and scratches his throat.  It annoys me to the fullest. LOL  But I love him dearly! :)
