Hi all! I'm new to the board (kind of)...I lurked on and off for a couple of years, but it has been a solid six months to a year since I've come on here last. My name is Andrea. I'm a retail manager and mother of two kids (Noah, 4, and Maddy, 3). Between work and family, I'm super busy but I try to squeeze in reading time when I can.
I'll pretty much read anything fiction, but my go-to genres are Fantasy and YA. I'm a huge HP and LoTR nerd, and my favorite author is Neil Gaiman. Something that has always drawn me back to this board is the seasonal challenges. I love that they encourage you to be a well-rounded reader and to try books outside what you would normally pick up!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”
