Artist/vandal?

So sad. Yes, he was committing a crime but a taser to apprehend a teen vandal? Really?

I think this brings up a serious issue with Taser use.  I'm sure the intent was not to kill the vandal.  The cop thought the Taser would be an effective tool in apprehending him...I wonder if he was trained to think that? Instead of recognizing the Taser as a potentially harmful weapon, he treated it like a slingshot.  Gotta get the vandal! 

I don't think cops are trained well enough in the consequences of Taser use.  This is not a situation where a Taser should have been used.  Yes, the vandal probably would have gotten away...but his crime did not warrant apprehension above all else.  

Ugh.  This just makes me think of Fruitvale Station, which just makes me so freaking sad.  I think Tasers should ONLY be used to subdue a violent person who cannot be controlled.

Tell the kid to cut it out and warn him that if he doesn't you'll take further action.

They didn't need to tazer him.
