Please help with foyer decorating!

We have an open floor plan where the foyer, dining room, and what we call our front room are three different colors that merge at the front door area. I have to get a rug and some accessories and it already looks 'busy' with all of the colors so I want to neutralize it, yet pull all the colors together. Any suggestions on how to do this? I will try to post a pic...thanks, Karen

  • (Don't know why the images are sideways..when you click on them, they are vertical! :/)
  • Potted plants next to the door on either side. Reddish pot. Green plant. I think a neutral rug in a tone a bit darker than the foyer walls.

Can you link me to a few rug ideas please?? Also, same or different potted plants? Thank you so so much!! -Karen
  • I like the plants ideas... here are some pics I found on google for what I pictured might look nice there! (the white vase and flowers might look nice if there is too much color or make it a white vase and colored flowers... ect)
