Audiobook virgin

I have never listened to an audiobook before. However, I figure since I'll be going on this road trip tomorrow I should probably start.

I bought:
Struck by Lightening by Chris Colfer
Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen

Gaimaniacs, I tried to find Neverwhere but B&N didn't have it. Boo!

I got Neverwhere from the library too. I think I had the cd's but I think I remember the e-audiobook was available for download too

I needed actual CDs because my car doesn't have the AUX connection option. Of course I would buy the car model right before they put it in.

It's ok. It does have its quick witted/funny portions but it isn't anything spectacular. I have enjoyed it.

I'm curious about Chris Colfer as an author.

My car is a 2005 so I have to either use cds or listen to audiobooks on my phone.

I recently got into listening to books this year, but it's really great for commuting!

This is my first completed audiobook and the experience isn't so shabby. I'm probably going to try more out.

My car is a 2006 so I didn't have the AUX option either. And like you guys, my car is paid off and I love not having a note. For my birthday last year, DW bought me a new stereo for the car that has bluetooth capabilities. It was only like $300 including installation. It has turned out to be the BEST gift ever.

We have one car that is a 1996 (with a cassette player!!)  and my car is a 2003 so no AUX options either.  I just wear earbuds to listen to my books.  And yes, I can still hear everything going on around me including any sirens....

For those with cassette players, they make this thing that you put into the cassette player and it has a cord coming out that plugs into ipods' earphone spot. I did this until buying a new stereo with an AUX option.

They also make something that tunes into static radio stations so you can listen that way.  I forget how it works but I used to have one before I got my new car...It can be annoying if you're driving long distances and the radio station goes "unstatic-y" but it works!

I would be careful with using earbuds. I know that in CA that kinda thing is illegal no matter if you can hear the sirens or not.

I have this in my car.  I'm like most of y'all, car paid off and we pay a car note for DH.  Mine plugs into the jack, so it also charges your battery.  It's nice to have.  DH has an aux but it make a noise when it's plugged it fwiw.
