Registry Time

Tell me what you couldn't live without?  I have no idea where to begin!  My youngest niece was born 5 years ago so I feel so unprepared to even start thinking about it!

Re: Registry Time

  • Aden & Anais blankets!  Get the rayon from bamboo ones - sooo much softer!

I know I said I didn't like the Swaddle Mes before, but now I couldn't live w/o them.

Diapers and wipes.  You go through them fast!

    Sound machine!

    Pack n' play

I got a lot of baby washcloths and towels.  I almost would prefer to use regular size stuff because they are so small and thin.

  • Some things friends have told me are a must-have:
    Sleep sacks
    Rock n play
    Cool mist humidifier
    Sound machine
    Portable sound machine- sleep sheep/giraffe
    Nose frida
    Sheet savers

Lizzie's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)

  • Rock n play
    White noise machine
    Banana teether/toothbrush
    Pacifiers and clips
    Sleep sacks
    Clevamama towels
    Boba wrap
    Boba3g
    Ring sling
    Sassy bugs stroller toys
    Nose frida
Windii (I had a very gassy baby)
Mirror to see him in the backseat
    Stroller
    Infant seat
    Dimmer switch for bedside lamp
Red light bulbs or night lights for MOTN feedings

I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love.
  • If breast feeding a nursing cover is really helpful and I prefer my breast friend pillow. For pumping I used Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple cream. I like the washable nursing pads and loves the bravado seamless body silk nursing bras early on and now for sleep.

  • When registering for diapers remember to register for multiple sizes! I liked having at least one package the next size up so you could test them out when you thought it might be time to move up!

Also, some sort of white noise or lullabies and a nightlight for motn feeding. Bibs...we used them as drool and spit up catchers in the beginning. I really liked having a "survival" kit with Tylenol, orajel, gripe water, gas drops and saline drops because when you need the meds for the first time you probably won't want to run to the store! In the beginning her bouncy seat and boppy were lifesavers!

  • Ohhh! Pp, twin mom!
Pack n play, easy outfits, hats and socks in preemie!! I had to make a huge preemie haul, I had none.
Burp cloths, if you're nursing get the bras and tanks!
The Medela pump has 5oz bottles, but I can get about 6oz each boob in the early am so I went and bought bigger bottles yesterday, just to catch more milk.

Tonsssss of diapers. We use a pack in two days. Ugg!

    Halo swaddlesacks and sleep sacks
Boba (I would never get stuff done without this!  Best money we've spent in a long time!)
If you end up FF the Dr Browns formula pitcher is amazing
bottle warmer (R refused cold bottles so I really preferred to have a bottle warmer)
    board books
    toys
    activity mat
    jumperoo
wet bags (even if you don't CD) for wet/gross clothes
PNP-but we travel a lot (like gone for a week plus at least once a month)
Bottle cooler for taking bottles on the go
pacifier wipes.....we use a ton of these!

    Things I would skip:
boppy- I preferred a regular bed pillow
the carseat showercap style cover- I prefer the canopy I made
bumbo- he only liked it for maybe a month, if that
baby k'tan- R hated it but some love it, the boba can be used for infants as well
    bottle sanitizer
bottle drying rack (except I saw one that actually blew air in the bottles to speed up drying, that would be awesome)

  • Oh and I loved the one piece (still do) outfits that I just have to slide it over his head and snap the crotch up.  It's great for when I know we'll be out late and I can put him in that so he's comfy to sleep in it when we get home.  I also liked them for when we had to go somewhere early in the mornings.  I would put him in those for bed so it was just wake up, change/feed and out the door.

  • I used baby bargains (April 2013 Ed) to help me register.

We have used a lot of swaddles. We like the miricle blanket. We also have a couple Velcro ones we use. Couldn't live without them!

Ditto this--I don't even know what a bunch of these things are.

@Venti29, a pack of diapers in 2 days? Holy crap (pun intended). I've been thinking about the big things we need and not little things like diapers. It doesn't seem like such a little thing now!

Our baby goes through about one diaper every two hours! I heard it slows down after a couple week, but yes! It is a ton of diapers! We had to order a bigger trash can from waste management.

  • I'm months away from registering, but this list has been super helpful!  I've already started researching things and putting items I like on a private Amazon wish list.

Thanks for all of these ideas, ladies!
