Thanks guys! After having a productive day yesterday, getting 8 new easy recipes and just getting support from all you wonderful ladies, I am feeling refreshed. I hope I can stay on top of it all for a while!

Also, DH and I are going out Saturday for his birthday, just the two of us and then on Labor Day (for our anniversary) we are going to stay in a cabin on a lake! I can't wait to relax!

So, GPM, what is your go to for relaxing and refreshing?

Re: Feeling Refreshed

  • DH and I went to dinner this past weekend and were cracking up because I barely fit in the booth. Lol

When I need to relax I go outside and sit and just take everything in. It's always been my go to when I'm stressed or just needing a break for a minute. Plus I watch my dogs be complete dummies running around the yard. They do the strangest things sometimes.

  • @sgautschi we went to Red Robin when I was 37 weeks and the hostess looked at me and said uhm do you think you will fit in a booth? I laughed. She was embarrassed as soon as she said it.

Also, I love just sitting outside and calming down. I love being a sahm but I would have to say that one of the things that gets to me is not having any time to myself. I can't just walk away and have time to myself and that is hard. I have learned that DH won't offer to give me time so I need to get better about stepping up and saying hey I need some me time. Going on a family walk is really nice too but DH is so tired after work he just wants to lounge around.

  • I'm glad you are feeling refreshed! Being stuck in a funk is the worst. The cabin sounds like so much fun.

  • @venti29 I just need little bits of time to myself too. Like DH I am not asking for a whole day I just want to go in the room and scrapbook for a half hour. I thought by 16 months I would have gotten better at making time for myself and that I would stop feeling guilty about it. I definitely have Mom guilt.
