I feel like this is discussed 100 times here. We have an Electrolux canister and I hate it. I'm going to return it. We have all hardwoods and area rugs. I feel like the rugs are never clean.

Suggestions? Bonus if its good with dog hair. Thanks!

We have a dyson ball and love it. I would look into the ball animal. Our house is all hardwood.

Another Dyson household fan, we got it when we had wall to wall carpet, moved into wall to wall hardwood, and back to carpet now.

We also have a dyson. I resisted for a long time due to the price but after 2 craptastic "other" vacuums I caved and I LOVE it. We really want to get the stick type Dyson to use in our kitchen as we are constantly sweeping up crumbs.....anyone have that one?

we want a dyson next. we have the shark navigator and like it and it does a good job but i wish we had spent the extra money and bought a dyson

What kills me is we spent $300 on that Electrolux. It just sucks though.

Dyson does suck but only it the ways you want it too...ba dum dum. I know I've mentioned it before but they also have a store in KOP where they will service your machine every year and take care of any issues you may have while it's under waranty. They have test vacuums there as well if you want to try them out. I promise you, it's the best vacuum purchase you'll ever make.

We have a dyson but not the animal or ball...just the regular one. I got it super on sale a few years ago. It works great! (hardwood, carpets, dog hair, cheerios, etc...)

We have the Dyson Animal Ball as well.  Love it.  I don't think we have the complete, not sure what that is.  And the difference between a regular and an animal I believe, is the handheld animal hair attachment.  We don't really use that hardly at all, so it probably wasn't worth the money.  But we do love the Dyson.

My mom has the stick and it's a fantastic, she found it on some super sale and uses it all the time.

We also have the Dyson ball, not the pet one. Martin is the primary vacuum person and he absolutely loves it! You can usually get a good deal at Costco.

I have a dyson too, not a ball one though. the 33? something like that. It's amazing though, on carpet and my hardwood floors. Good luck!

Kernel, I"ve seen that you can get some good deals at Kohl's with Dysons.

I picked ours up at BBB, with a coupon even though it says you can't use it.  They seem to be more strict now about them.

This. At the time they let me use the 20% and the $5.00 off. I also used my cashback points from my Discover card to get gift cards to BB&B.

Check out QVC.com. They often have good deals and ez pay too.

we got ours at Best Buy it was an open box special, meaning someone had bought it, opened the box and returned it. We received 15 or 20% off. No complaints since it:s now 6 years old, maybe more.

Kross - I don't have the Dyson stick, but I just bought the Electrolux Egorapido stick vacuum and it's awesome.  I use it on hardwoods and area rugs and it works great.

Kernel - I have a Bissell Healthy Home and it works fine, but it weighs 25 pounds!  If we didn't spend $250+ on it, I totally would trash it and buy something else.  Probably a Dyson.

Ours was a gift but was from Sears on Black Friday.  I know when we got it, there were several Black Friday Dyson options, two years ago or so.  I know it's a bit to wait, but it's another idea.

The D33 is on sale at Best Buy and Macy's for $250 (I'm pretty sure it's about to be discontinued.
