Progesterone supplements?

Ok, somewhat nervous over here.  We're on vacation at the beach and I get a call from my ob that my progesterone levels are low and she wants me to start a supplement.  I tell her we're away and I don't know the number for the local pharmacy, can it wait until Monday when we get home and she said not really.  Of course, none of the local pharmacies can get it in until tomorrow.

I'm kinda freaking out.  Can someone talk me down?  Has anyone been on progesterone supplements?  Was anyone put on them after your first bloodwork?  We haven't told anyone about the pregnancy yet - we plan to tell our immediate families at 9 weeks - so other than DH, I have no one else IRL to talk to.

You made my wedding day complete.

  • I took progesterone supplements my entire first trimester.  Just start taking them tomorrow and everything will be ok.  Did your doc say why you needed them?

It's the gel, and she said she wanted me to start them because my progesterone #s from Monday's appointment are low, but she didn't say how low.  The local pharmacy (east end of LI) said it will be in after 2 tomorrow.

  • Thanks, ladies.  We picked it up today and I will start tonight.  I'm nervous because my symptoms have been fairly mild thus far (heartburn and stomach pain, but haven't thrown up yet) and I get the feeling that this is going to change.  I also go back to work in 2 weeks, and I am in a new building where I don't know ANYONE.  I'm terrified to be the "new pregnant chick" even though this is my 4th year in district.  I had hoped to keep it quiet until the later part of September and I'm nervous that I won't be able to.  I'm also nervous that worse symptoms are going to make teaching elementary music close to impossible.
