Phalaenopsis Orchid

I have had this orchid for several months now, and all the blooms finally fell off. I'm guessing it was just at the end of it's blooming period. What should I do now? Do I just chunk it or can it be made to bloom again? And if so, how? Thanks!

Re: Phalaenopsis Orchid

  • It can possibly bloom again. I have one that has bloomed multiple times at different points on the same stem. A new stem may start growing lower down on the old stem. keep watering it as you had before and give it time. it will go in stages.
  • I should add.... if the whole stem browns and seems dead, take a pair of clean scissors and cut it off at the base of the plant. Again, continue watering (mine gets watered every 1 to 2 weeks) and it should eventually start a stem from the base. As long as the leaves and the roots look healthy, the plant has potential to flower again.
