    I hope that was an adoption fee through a rescue/shelter (in which case, that's a totally acceptable fee), and not what an individual was charging for puppies from a random litter. You're better off without it if that $450 was going to support a backyard breeder.

  • yeah, it wasn't a rescue/shelter anything. It was someone's litter like two miles from us. (I made the mistake of playing on craiglist when i was bored the other day) I've only ever rescued dogs, never bought, and I didn't really want to start, but they were so damn cute.  I'm already accepted through several rescue sights and am going on another meet and greet tomorrow.  I just feel better rescuing :-)

    Way better to go with another rescue. I'd never pay that kind of money for some ignorant over-populating moron's "oops" litter, or even their "my dog is pretty so I'm just going to breed her and make a ton of money" litter.

  • I love my rescues, and I've even been a "foster mom". It's very rewarding. I wish more people would rescue (and get their dogs spayed/neutered)
