NBR: Help restore my faith in humanity, please
And not that video of the random acts of kindness, either. Not gonna cut it. People have been intentionally destructive at the museum, and I'm losing my mind. They tore a window out of the small jet plane exhibit on Saturday, and today I caught a guy who had removed the chains barring the auto exhibits so he could pose his kids leaning on our brand new automobile (yes, the DeLorean). He then had the gall to say that they weren't touching it when I caught them red handed and that the chains "fell down" (pretty sure I saw him take them down, too, but from a distance). I don't understand the compulsion to tear up and be proprietary with things that don't belong to them. It's so disrespectful. WTF is wrong with people in this country?!
Also, I saw two women in three days throw their butts out the car window at stoplights. The world is NOT an ashtray!
Grr.

I heard a story on the nightly news about the (American) guy who broke the finger off of a 400-year old Florentine statue because he was trying to compare his hand to the statue's hand. It made me think of you. What part of DON'T TOUCH THE ART don't people understand?
