  • 2) Pet Peeve? Oh man.  I have so very many.  Right now, let's say people who can't let you experience anything without saying "wait till you're a mom".  Hungry?  Wait till you're a mom and never have time to eat.  Tired?  No you aren't, just wait till you're a mom.  Stressed?  Nope, not until you're a mom.  I'm sure being a mom is hard.  I am still allowed to have emotions.

Oh my god. This drives me mad!!!!
  • 1)  Purple Mac & Cheese

    2) When my dog rolls in something in the yard resulting in me walking all the way out to get him and then giving him a bath and attempting to brush him.  (I'm taking this question literally today because I'm still annoyed about him doing this today!)

    3) a boring yellow sticky note in one book and a Macy Beckett one in the other!

    2) People who in reality have just *a little* knowledge in a subject area but then assume they are experts. Example, this groom hired my quartet to played for his wedding. Claims to be "HUGE" lover of classical music, said he's studied it in college. Then when requesting songs couldn't pronounce the name of one of the top 5 major composers in the history of music (it's not that hard of a name).
    3) LOL well..since I'm currently reading 3 different books I have a wide variety. One of them goes over the top and has pictures of flowers hanging off the other side. My favorite one wraps around the inside of the book and has a clasp on the outside (this clasp happens to be a music related one).

Psh, just wait until you're a mom.  Then you'll know what emotions are :P

I am kidding, in case that doesn't come across.  Even AS a mom, it annoys me to no end when people say that.. as though no one has any sort of life before kids.

What do you consider the top 5 @sonore32 , out of curiosity?  I could make a case for a bunch of them I think.  I'm assuming you play strings since weddings rarely request woodwind quartets...what's your instrument?

  • Hi @sassypants...sorry I just saw that you asked the question below...still learning all the new nest stuff.

Well the specific composer I was referring to was Hayden (pronounced by this groom as Hay-den (Hay as in what you feed to horses)).

If I actually had to pick the top 5 I don't think I could because it is so variable depending on what you are ranking them ask (personal favorite, compositional output, reception history) etc... But if i had to give a generic ranking it would be something like (and yes i know there are more than 5 listed below)

Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Hayden, Handel, Shostakovich, Wagner....

And yes I actually play the viola (and sometimes violin but I don't like to admit that). I'm working on my Doctorate in viola performance :p
