BFF is a recovering addict. She is also a huge fan of "A Perfect Circle" They have a song called either "I Rose" or "Rose". To celebrate her recovery she was going to get a tattoo of a beautiful rose with nasty thorns and the quote "I rose, I roared, I will, I am" She has recently become more spiritual and wants it to be attuned to that. Which would you use?

  • I like the fourth one. I think the "I" language in that statement is empowering, especially since your friend has done so much hard work to fight addiction.

I really like the 4th option. While I know many attribute their strength to a "higher power" I really think she needs to pay homage to her own strength. I don't feel it takes anything away from her spirituality.

Agree. I wasn't sure from the original post if her friend ascribed to any particular faith system, but even she did she needs to honor her strength.
