FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

2

Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • Lately I've been hiding in the baby's room long after I have rocked her to sleep at night just to have a break and moment to myself. I love my kids with all my heart but am still getting adjusted to having a newborn and toddler which has meant absolutely no time to myself- I can't pee alone, haven't had a hot meal since before Brynne was born, and someone is always climbing on me. I rock her to sleep and then just hold her on the glider with my eyes closed for awhile, enjoying the silence and peace for as long as I can before husband or toddler comes to find me (usually toddler comes barging in first).

I used to do this in the shower when the princess was a newborn. My showers were SO long and wonderful.

  • Thanks ladies. We are lucky, Brynne is such a low key, happy baby but Jack is going through a difficult phase now and in general I'm hormonal and sleep deprived so feeling a little crazy when I don't get any time to decompress. It's easy to feel like you're losing yourself, if that makes sense.

  • I never thought water had a taste until I, one-tried our gross well water, and two-realized I like the Polar water I have in a water fountain at home much better than the filtered stuff at my office. I've tried bringing in water from home but it just tastes better ice cold and it's not as cold when I get to work. Yes, life is tough I know.

Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

My grandma had stinky well water coming out of her tap when I was a kid, and the only way I would drink it was if it had been refrigerated until it was ice cold, because that somehow mostly eliminated the taste.  Mind you, we also had well water, but it didn't stink or taste weird.

This is what I do, too. Anthony knows shower time = me time and I get so cranky without it!

Not much of a confession, but I think once this trip is over I am going to avoid my mother in law for a long while until I like her again. Because right now, I really really don't.

Lol!  I felt the same way after 5 straight days with MIL.  We were out of town, we rented a car.. she did not so that meant that everywhere that we went, she went.

I LOVE ice cold water too!  I have a 32 oz Nalgene bottle with an insulator-like cover thing.  When I leave home in the morning, I completely fill the bottle with ice first then top off with water.  The ice usually lasts until just after lunch.

It makes perfect sense. Big Hugs to you! You are doing awesome! I only have one and feel like I have lost myself, I don't think I could make it with two.

  • My confession is that I don't love my new job and it's totally freaked me out.  It's only been a week and all good advice says to keep going and give it a try, but my brain is stressed over it.  Adult life is scary.

I hope it gets better! Maybe once the newness wears off and you get into your daily routine things will be different.

For the first couple weeks after B was born, the second DH walked in the door I'd run upstairs to the shower. Those 15-20 minutes were heaven!!

  • I miss weekends, especially Saturdays.  I have had to work on Saturdays for the past 4 years.  I really miss being able to enjoy Saturday festivals and hang out with other people who have reguglar weekends.  I used to work Tue-Sat, and at my current job I work Sat-Wed.  I really want weekends back!

  • I confess that I actually like my MIL and we're actually off on our annual vacation with them in a couple days. Me, DH, DS, FIL, MIL, and my 2 SILs all squished in a tiny cabin on the lake for 10 days. I look forward to it every year. I'm a freak.. My MIL and I have some of our best conversations together on the beach when FIL drags DH and SILs to the golf course with him, and it's just the two of us :)

  • I confess that I've been feeling off lately but I'm too busy to go to the doctor so I'm worried about it but I don't have time to worry about it. I'm hoping I can make an appointment but I really am not going to be available for another few weeks and I'm just hoping all my symptoms will be gone by then.

Just a few examples: I've been feeling so tired, way earlier and more often than usual. I randomly threw up one morning last week. Just tonight I randomly got really dizzy and nauseous. I've been eating okay and drinking a lot more water, trying to see if maybe I was dehydrated, but it hasn't changed anything.

Ummm, hate to be the one to jump right to this, but have you peed on a stick? Hope you feel better and find time for an appointment soon either way!

  • We just paid $200 to learn that our cat does not have a urinary tract infection like I thought. I think he may be peeing outside the box because he's decided we don't keep the box clean enough. That was expensive.
