Update on graeme
Hi all! I'm exhausted & about to go to bed in a lovely 6x9 sleep room (basically a cell), so this will be brief!
Graeme had his big open heart surgery on Tuesday and it was a success! The surgeon kept stressing to us how complex it is. He had a choice of two different operations and went with the riskier one that may have better long term results (it was a game-time decision b/c not all kids are a candidate for it). We're still in the cardiac intensive care, having ups and downs but slowly moving in the right direction. He's in a lot of pain...his one heart valve is leaking but managable with meds...and he's just "done" with being poked and prodded. But good news is that he drank a little milk today and gave us a few smiles! He's a little trooper.

Anyway, I'm sooo glad it was a success and that things are moving forward. So so awesome that he drank more milk too. He's an amazing little fighter
