New Here: Storing Cupcake Question

Hi there,

I'm an active member on TN and TB but this is my first time posting here.

My DH and I find out the gender of our LO (due in January) on Friday and are having family members over to reveal the gender.

I am making cupcakes with colored frosting. I will be making the cupcakes the night before since I work full time and once we find out the gender, I'll frost them the next day.

My question is, how do I store them overnight to keep them fresh and not have them dry out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry this is such a newb question. I've never made cupcakes before.

Re: New Here: Storing Cupcake Question

  • since its just overnight i think a sealed tupperware will keep them just fine. if you dont have one large enough you could even keep them in a ziploc bag since you wont ice them til later. And congrats on your little one!

  • Congrats!

I'm not a big baker but I've heard that with a full size cake you can store it with a slice of bread to help keep it fresh. I don't know if this would work with cupcakes, or if it even works at all, but you could try it. I know for longer keeping, freezing them works well.

My MIL does this with cookies to keep them fresh.
