Monday recovery/Weekend stories/Vents
I swear our weekend was more like a staycation than a regular weekend! The kids and DH slept in the tent in the backyard both nights (he wanted to set it up and make sure it wasn't too wet when we packed it up after camping). Saturday we were at Kennywood for 9 hours and Sunday we spent the majority of the day at a pool/backyard party.
It was great!
Except for the fact that I'm exhausted, our house is a disaster area, we barely did any laundry this weekend, I didn't go to the grocery store and our cleaning person comes tomorrow. We're going to H's favorite restaurant tonight, in honor of the first day of school, and then the rest of the evening will be filled with chores to try to get back on track.
And on top of all that, when DH went to get the one load of laundry that we did this weekend out of the dryer this morning, the dryer wasn't producing heat. Ugh. The last thing I want to do right now is buy a new appliance!

We had a good weekend. Mason had 2 birthday parties for friends from school, he had a lot of fun and it was nice to talk to parent's that I usually don't talk to. (Although, as I mentioned in a previous post, we almost missed one of the parties because we didn't get the invitation...and we missed one last weekend for the same reason. I am mortified that I am a non-RSVP'er!) We also had a family picnic yesterday, which was fun.
My weekend story would be that I had a confrontation with someone in the parking lot of Toys R Us. As I was parking, the person in the car a few spaces away from me littered out their car window. I'm not talking just a small piece of garbage, but they threw a McDonald's cup and food bag full of trash out the window. As I was walking past, I picked it up, and said "Really?" and started walking it towards the garbage can (which was maybe 10 feet away from their car). Then the woman proceeded to scream at me! We exchanged a few words and I held my own, but once I got into the store I was shaking like scaredy cat. I can't believe I got yelled at for picking up someone else's freaking garbage! (One of the things she said was, "I didn't throw it out the window, my kid did!" Um, not any better sweetheart.)
