Hello, I'm new and here in hopes of support. A dear friends baby minpin was either taken or went missing over the holiday. Is there a place I can post a site and flyer? This is the Ca area.

I find it irksome that this post asks us not to use the term "labradoodle" or other name for a hybrid dog or some other mix. I understand that this is because you don't want to promote puppy mills, but I have a labradoodle that my husband and I rescued from a parking lot, we didn't pay a dime for him, and I like to call him a labradoodle because that's what he is (although I generally say knock-off labradoodle because he has a few other things mixed in there too according to DNA test.) I call my other dog a toy sheepdog terrier which is a totally made up name but i prefer to specify what they are as close as possible rather than just saying "mutt." By the way, there is a link to an article describing Labradoodles as "mongrels" which I find offensive, although the word might have a different connotation in Australia. These rules seem pretentious and glorify purebreds, which can also come from horrible breeding backgrounds.

"Labradoodle" is not a thing. It's not a breed. Your dog is a lab/poodle mix, you assume, as you don't know who the parent dogs are. If you want to be as clear as possible about your dog's assumed mix, say "lab/poodle mix."

I actually DNA tested my dogs, so I do know what his parents were. they were a Labradoodle (or Lab/Poodle mix) and a Lab mix. Either way, I still like to say knock-off Labradoodle. I know it isn't a breed and it doesn't mean I support puppy mills.

The dna tests are full of malarkey.


And you still own a poodle or lab mix.
