SuBC Challenge: Create something from a book
I am reading Little House in the Big Woods with my daughter and she asked, "What is Hasty Pudding?"
I had no idea. So, I found the recipe and we made it yesterday. Needless to say, it wasn't very good, but we are proud to say we tried something new.

Definitely! She is always asking to cook with me and this was a really fun thing to introduce her to things that we don't normally have. Too bad it didn't taste very good.

It had all the ingredients of a pumpkin pie (minus crust) except replace the canned pumpkin with molasses and cornmeal. I'm afraid it wasn't very good. The recipe I found said it would be sweet, but it was gritty and almost bitter ... the molasses was very strong.
