Re: Happy Friday!!

  • Hooray for Friday and a long weekend! I cannot believe September is almost here! We have a housewarming BBQ to go to on Saturday and a church thing on Sunday but otherwise absolutely nothing! I plan to spend all of Monday relaxing with H. We may try to squeeze a trip to Ikea in on Sunday.

  • Tonight - going to see my parents before they go to NC for a week. We're getting cheesesteaks at my favorite place. And bellybuttons (cheese tator tots). Totally my splurge meal haha.

Saturday - ugh... 1030 AM wedding 2 hours away.  H took off tonight, but now they want him to come in. At this point, I don't care, as long as he's in by 8 am and ready to go. Then I'm coming home and sleeping until Monday... Either in my bed, or on a blanket on our new deck!

  • We're going out for DH's birthday tonight (his real b-day was on Mon).

Sat and Sun DH is working and I'll be working in the lab / writing a fellowship application

Mon DH and I are headed to the outlets. I know that it's going to be crazy on a holiday, but we both really want to get some stuff for Italy and it's pretty much the only day we'll have time to go.

I can't believe summer is almost over : ( It seems like it was just Memorial Day?!?!?

    Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

  • Have to buy a dress for a wedding I'm in next weekend (ok so I have procrastinated a TINY amount, but the last month I've been looking everywhere for a darn charcoal grey dress and have found ZILCH!  Fingers crossed that Nordstrom Rack has something today!), then going to the salon for highlights tomorrow (BIG splurge for me that I only do once a year...last time was for our wedding!).  Finishing a short story I'm submitting to a contest.  And lots of quality time with the Hubs, food, and cold beers :)

  • I'm working today, tomorrow and Monday. I'm possibly going shopping at Ikea on Sunday. Then back to school Tuesday.

  • IDk what we are doing tonight.  Tomorrow DH has to work so I think that I will do some things around the house.  I might work on the photobooks too.  SUnday we might go to my grandma's house.  She lives about 3 hours away and we haven't seen her in a while.  We have off on Monday so I think that we are hanging out with DH's mom.  In the end, nothing too exciting.

My Goddaughter is spending the night with us tonight, so I think we'll make a trip to the park (if the weather cooperates). Otherwise, we might have a movie night in or something.

Saturday, I have to help my Mom make my Grandma's potato salad for our Family Reunion on Sunday. Sunday, not much planned besides the reunion.

On Monday, I might be having lunch and window shopping at the antique stores downtown with a friend.

  • H went for an interview today to get a local driving job so hopefully he gets it. He's a truck driver that's on the road 5-6 days a week so it would be awesome for him to finally come home every night.
We might go to a bbq on Saturday and potentially on Monday if H doesn't have to leave for work again.
We need to do a big grocery shopping trip this weekend to restock the house.

  • Nic, H and I went to the outlets last year and Labor Day.  We got there early, like when they first opened.  It wasn't too bad at all.  By the time we were finished, the place was turning into a mad house.  It was worth it though, we got really great deals!  EVERYTHING was on sale with super addition discounts.

Tomorrow, we're going into the city to see this Iluminate show.  It's a dance show in the dark where all the performers where illuminated costumes.  Sunday, we're going to H's parents' house for a BBQ.  I make Buffalo chicken egg rolls and one of SILs asked me to make them.  I wanted to say no because of the show Saturday, but I want to eat them.  I'm going to wake up early Sunday to make them before church.

Monday, we're just going to relax and enjoy the calm before the storm of me going back to work.

I definitely plan on getting there early! I guess it's also a holiday in Canada on Mon too...we live about an hour away from Niagara Falls, and these outlets are about 2 hours east of the Canadian border. There's always huge Canadian tour busses, so if it's a US and Canadian Holiday, it's going to be mobbed.

I plan on getting there as soon as it opens and heading straight to the Banana Republic outlet (my favorite)...there's always ridiculous lines for the dressing rooms, cash register, or both. I definitely want to avoid the crowds there!

The ones I went to are about an hour north of NYC and they get all the tour buses from the city.  I know exactly what you're talking about. The Banana Republic there always has a long line also.  Do you go to the Waterloo outlets?  I used to go there in college and it was great!
  • Yup...the Waterloo outlets. They are about 45 minutes away from us.

  • Waterloo is nice. Definitely something DH and I will hit up when we go to Rochester on October. I looooove outlet shopping! DH and I have plans to head to one of the Carter's outlets after we find out what we are having on September 25! Probably the one in Lee, Massachusetts.

Tonight, DH and I went out for dinner. We have plans to go to picnics on Saturday and Sunday. I work Saturday night and Monday night, which leaves me pretty free this weekend! I'm happy because I only work 3 shifts (32 hours) this week!
  • Last night one of my friends came over and we had pot roast (which :( didn't turn out anywhere near as yummy as usual) and made these delicious diet-busting caramel bacon buns. We watched funny YouTube videos and rented Pitch Perfect.

I'm not sure what the rest of the weekend holds. We need to find someone to help us or rent a truck to go pick up our dryer from Huntsville. H wants to watch the UT Vols game tonight at his parents, but my parents have my niece and nephews. I really want to convince him to drive the 2 hours there and spend some time with them. I haven't seen them since the wedding. At first I thought I didn't want to go because my students have been wearing me out, but I FaceTimed with them last night and it made me cry :( So we shall see!
