I am confused as to why Ethan is a-ok with his best friend dating Ridley?  He doesn't even attempt to convince his friend not to hang out with this scary dark caster.  What's up with that?

I listened to it a while ago.  I think that's just a guy thing, they tend to butt out.

I am listening to it too.  I wonder if you listened to the same version I am listening to?  There are like sound effects for thunderstorms and things breaking etc. and music playing in the background.  I find it distracting but I was curious as to whether other people liked it.

I HATED IT!  The book I'm listening to now has like random dramatic piano playing in parts.  Just read the book, I think heard the wind howling in my head... or know when this is a dramatic scene.

Okay, good! Glad I'm not crazy.  I like it when the narrators do different voices for each character but that's all I need as far as production.

Yup I agree, I even enjoy 2 readers for male and female, but no sound effects.

That was one of my many issues with that book.
