Log cabin fashion

I have a "living room" as soon as you walk in. I guess what could be a formal room, is it necessary to make it "formal" / fancy? I live in the country, in a cabin. I feel like it should but then again, I feel like I can get away with not because its a cabin, in the country! Now I'm not talking furniture with claws and porcelain cats but fancier version of the rest of the house? Any thoughts?

Re: Log cabin fashion

  • Do you have some pictures of this room and the rest of the décor style in your home?
  • No, not right now. That would probably be helpful (should of probably thought about that).
  • I don't think it necessarily needs to be "fancy," unless that's your style. If it's too formal compared to the rest of your house, you might never use that space - most people I know with a dedicated formal living room rarely use the space. I'm a big fan of making every room functional and comfortable. Overall, I'd keep the decor more or less consistent with the rest of the house (I love the cabin style!).
